Also, the way that the author utilized different styles and colors of text to portray a specific feeling within the reader. The dialogue that happens between the shark and the creatures that afraid of him happen in little chat bubbles, which I thought was very cool because. This page made me laugh so hard and by the second page, I knew that I was gonna like this book.

As a human reading this book, it is funny to see what the sharks description of a scary movie is: a boy fishing in the ocean. They add to the overall feeling of humor throughout this book. The simple, childish illustrations in this book are really cute and fun. Just the thought of a huge scary shark being afraid of a little spider is comedic in itself, and with the silly dialogue that happens between the characters, the humor in this book kept me laughing from beginning to end. The shark says he isn't scared of anything, everything is scared of him, but the crab finds out that there is one little tiny insect that frightens the shark beyond belief: a spider. As the book goes on, a little crab comes into the story and starts to ask the shark what he is afraid of. The first couple of pages are very funny in the illustrations, which I will talk about later in this review. It is about a shark who claims everything is scared of him and he is awesome. Shark by Bob Shea is a very unique and interesting story. I am gnashing my teeth with how cute this book is.Īnd like the shark, i am fearless!! unless you are twins I feel silly adding a spoiler alert for a children's picture book, but you always want to be cautious when sharks are involved. which can be deduced by his adorable questions here. It is about a brave and boastful shark, who is not afraid of giant squids, scary movies, the dark, bears, dinosaurs, or getting shots. The artwork in this is typical bob shea-adorableĪnd, in what i believe is a bob shea first - mixed media: a shark's mouth is no place for a puppy to romp. and when you take children's books out of the library, sometimes children have already gotten their sticky little hands on them, so you end up with stuff like this

I got this book out of the library for shark week 2015. I'm not afraid of the dark - the dark is afraid of me! Dark heard I was coming and ran!
